Kayak rack

saw this on a sprinter van in texas. Looks like it would be an option for mounting on my roadtrek. Could load similarly as I do with my hitch haul platform.....get one end in it and "walk" it into position.....just not have to slide it on the roof.....
what do you think, charlene?

I just saw one of those on Saturday, and wondered how well it'd work. He was going the other way on the 1/2-mile long 2-lane bridge, so I couldn't stop to ask, though. :-)

Saw you at "over the river" and was glancing through your site and saw you mention loading something. Um, I don't know what a roadtrek is, but I did remember an old post I saw somewhere.

Found it: http://asthecrowflies.org/2007/01/19/how-to-load-and-unload-your-kayak-by-yourself/

with a hand drawn picture to boot! Not sure if it would help.

Peace

Of course, in re-reading I see you DON'T want to slide it onto the roof.

I'm a dolt :)

Katie ~ I am thinking that your kayak is much longer than the one in the picture. And....honestly I could just see you running your kayak into things as your are sailing around out there. I think you would be much better off with it on top of the vehicle but I could be mistaken.

Kate, Roadtrek--?? Did I miss something? Do you have a new home?
